It's the first time Assumption will hold the event, and the idea originated with Lisa Colangelo, a kindergarten teacher at the school, according to Assumption Regional Catholic School Advancement Director Cathryn Flammer.

"Last year, a mom from her class lost her battle to cancer," Flammer said in an email. "The families really came together and formed a very unique bond. The class is still very close and developed a tight bond with the teacher."
