The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey baseball team is 4-2 through the first six games of the season, including an opening day doubleheader sweep of Penn State Abington. The Ospreys defeated Arcadia, 2-0, with pitcher James DiPlazza throwing eight innings with five strikeouts and six hits allowed.
The Ospreys then dropped two straight, including a 5-3 defeat at the hands of York College of Pennsylvania and a 7-2 loss to 12th ranked Keystone College. Stockton rebounded in the second half of that doubleheader to beat Keystone, 6-3, after jumping out to a 5-0 lead.
The Ospreys head to Vero Beach, Florida, from March 10-16. Stockton will play eight games against top-notch competition. Coach Marty Kavanagh believes this trip will go a long way in determining what kind of season Stockton will have.
In this video, Kavanagh discusses his team's start and its upcoming trip.
