Galloway Township celebrated Veterans Day one day after the official day, but there was still plenty to celebrate.

The township held its celebration at the municipal complex on Monday morning, Nov. 12. Guest speakers included Ryan Price, who was home from a recent tour of duty in Afghanistan before he must return in a few weeks, and Lt. Colonel Eric Davis. Davis was the final commander in the marine corps to leave Iraq in 2010.

Miss Teen Galloway Courtney Jack read Dee Scerni's poem, "The Missing Link," about soldiers who are either prisoners of war or missing in action.

The Absegami High School choir performed a pair of songs, and Jim Crane sang "In all my Colorful Majesty," written by Galloway's Ike Rucker.

Cub Scout Pack 76 led the Pledge of Allegiance, and members of the Galloway Township Middle School presented the wreath.
