Galloway Residents Don't Need to go to Camden for an Aquarium

The Atlantic City Aquarium is the subject of this week's day trip series.

Atlantic City Aquarium

You don’t have to drive to Camden, New Jersey or Baltimore, Maryland for a true aquarium experience. Galloway residents will appreciate the fact that it will be a relatively short trip to the Atlantic City Aquarium, located at 800 North New Hampshire Avenue – in historic Gardner’s Basin – in Atlantic City.

Home to over 100 varieties of aquatic species, visitors will enjoy the huge main tank that houses rays, sharks and other fish of the open sea, as well as the many other exhibits including clownfish and anemones, fish of the Amazon River, fish of the Indo-Pacific, live coral, moray eels, jellyfish, seahorses, loggerhead sea turtles, and the tropical rainforest exhibit.

Don’t miss the children’s favorite shark and ray “touch” tank. Yes, they can actually touch these sea creatures as they swim. There are special feeding times at noon and 3 p.m. Limited quantities of food are sold at the gift shop for scheduled feedings.

Groups are welcome. The “Dive and Dine” live dive show is a group favorite. See the diver in the 25,000 gallon “Fish of the Mid-Atlantic” tank hand-feed cownose rays, swim with nurse sharks and dive with dogfish. A picnic is included with your group tour. Advance reservations are required. Call for group rates.
