UPDATED: Galloway Woman Charged With Drunken Driving, Drug Possession, Taken to Hospital After Accident
She struck three parked cars, a garage and a lamp post Sunday night.
A 39-year-old Galloway Township woman was taken to the hospital late Sunday night, Feb. 5, following a drunken driving accident in which she struck three parked cars, a garage and a lamp post in Smithville, Galloway Township Police said.
Ivelisse Lopez was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus after causing the accident on Lakefront Circle in Smithville, police said. AtlantiCare representatives said she was treated and released on Monday, Feb. 6.
Lopez was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, police said.
According to police, she lost control of her vehicle and struck a parked car at 10:47 p.m. Sunday night. She then struck a garage, causing significant damage to the structure, police said. Her vehicle then struck two additional parked cars, and damaged a lamp post and a utility box, police said.
She was transported to the hospital by Galloway Township EMS. The Oceanville Volunteer Fire Company, Galloway Township Code Enforcement, Verizon and Atlantic City Electric assisted at the scene.
