Not sure what to do this weekend?
Maybe the five events below will pique your interest, or maybe, at the very least, give you some ideas:
When/where: Starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31 at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
Why go: Because you are a friend of Stockton, an alumni or because someone you know will be competing. Plus, it's at 4 p.m. on a Friday, so you can start your weekend early.
When/where: Starting at 10 a.m. at Historic Smithville and the Village Green on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Why go: Some of your favorite Smithville shops will be dropping prices for this sidewalk sale, which is one of 26 free weekend events in Smithville.
When/where: All day at the Noyes Museum of Art on Saturday and Sunday.
Why go: These will be the last two days to see this collection of pastel works from across the country at the Noyes Museum.
When/where: At the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Why go: It's cheaper and closer than the U.S. Open. Plus, if you're affiliated with Stockton or anyone on the team, you might want to go out to support the Ospreys.
5. Happy Hour
When/where: From 3p.m. to close at The Dubliner Irish Pub & Grill.
Why go: Happy hour is extended on Fridays at The Dubliner, from 3 p.m. to close instead of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There are drink specials for domestic drafts and, you guessed it, Guiness and Jameson as well. Some appetizers are also half price.
