The Go Green Galloway Task Force for Sustainability presented the movie "Revenge of the Electric Car," while offering free rides in an electric car Monday night, Jan. 28, at the Atlantic County Library System's Galloway Branch.

Ron and Melissa Hutchison displayed two electric cars prior to the start of the movie, according to the group. They will be offered free rides.

Galloway resident Michael Greb submitted photos from the event.

The movie focuses on the resurgence of the electric car. According to the film’s synopsis, thousands of electric cars were destroyed in 2006 by the same car companies that created them.

The movie was made in 2011, and was written and directed by Chris Paine. The documentary features Tim Robbins, Danny DeVito, Stephen Colbert, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gavin Newsome and Anthony Kiedis, among others.

This was the fifth movie Go Green Galloway has screened at the library. In the past, it has shown “Bag It!,” “Dirt,” Flow,” and “The Strange Disappearance of Bees.”

While "Go Green Galloway" is showing another movie....they could be doing something real ....like opposing the cutting of trees on 8th Ave. Or opposing Purdy & henchmen trying to sell those Green Soccer Fields along with the Municipal Complex, Imagination Station,Skate Park.Community Garden,Patriot Lake & Volley Ball Courts. This fake organization has Purdy's blessing. Won't it be great when the whole complex turns into an ugly strip mall or Stockton Dorms?....Maybe Purdy can build a new Purdy Automotive there and Copolla can open up a new restaurant there. Why doesn't "Go Green Galloway" show a movie about all the useless tree cutting going on in Galloway?...Why doesn't "Go Green Galloway" focus on Galloway?....Because they are just a fake organization who likes to show movies & tries to convince people to buy reuseable shopping bags so they can save 1 tree half way around the world. What a joke organization!

Hey Anthony...Why don't you dig into all dealings Purdy has with Galloway...Like a towing contract that people say he has. Or Purdy's statement that he's gonna fix Galloway vehicles at his new Purdy Automotive. Seems like a huge/maybe illegal conflict of interest. Dig into all his dealing with Galloway & all the taxpayer $$$ he receives from Galloway. People have a right to know!

Go Green Galloway always welcomes new volunteers - come check out the many things that we do that you may not be aware of. We love to have people who are ready to take up a cause with action.

I sometimes agree with Keep Galloway Green on some issues but I think this time I respectfully disagree. Go Green Galloway does address many local environmental problems. In 2011 they received a silver certificate from Sustainable NJ. which included a $10,000 grant. They offer grants to Galloway residents that can create environmentally Green landscapes on their property's.This seems to be an org. that puts it's money where their mouth is and they are not politically motivated. Their recycling efforts alone are of benefit to our Township. They deserve our support.

We encourage Keep Galloway Green to attend our next meeting - you will learn about all that we do - it would have been better to have done that before you gave an opinion on our volunteer group.......but we can get past that.
