International Networking Group Brings Together Local Businesses in Galloway

BNI has been meeting at Gourmet Italian Cuisine for four years.

The worldwide Business Networking International (BNI) Galloway Chapter meets at Gourmet Italian Cuisine every Wednesday morning at 11:30, and has done so for the last four years. The Galloway Chapter of the network currently stands at 14 members and is always looking for more members.

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, they gathered to listen to a presentation by Carey Hettmannsperger, owner of Culinary Creations by Carey in Galloway Township. Culinary Creations by Carey is a catering business known for making soup, including Buffalo Chicken Soup and Cheesesteak Soup. Hettmannsperger’s presentation focused on her efforts to branch out, including an appearance at Mayfest for the first time Other members of the group suggested she try other major events, including those in Ocean City, as well as concession stands at high school athletic events.

It’s what the group does; each member collects referrals for the other members and offers testimonials for the others at their meetings.

Each member also gives a 30-second commercial for their business, which includes highlights of any promotions they are running at that time.

Business representatives present at Wednesday’s meeting who gave 30-second commercials included:

  • Steve Brasslett, of Ivy League Mortgage, who spoke about a free refinancing consultation at his bank;
  • Jennifer Cintron, of Ocean City Home Bank, Galloway Branch, which will be celebrating the bank’s 125th anniversary in October by giving $125 to a customer every week;
  • Jennifer Crawford, of Pampered Chef, which is offering 20 percent off stone cookware this month;
  • Attorney Borden Gillis, who spoke about the stark reality of outliving your spouse;
  • Zach Hammonds, of Edward Jones, who spoke about the need to save money for retirement or for sending your children to college;
  • Dawn Lolla, of Lolla Chiropractic, who spoke about the overuse of antibiotics in children;
  • Liz Matteo, of Liberty Mutual, who spoke about auto and property insurance;
  • Norma Jean Pepino, of Prudential Fox/Roach Realtors, who spoke about an upcoming summer rental; and
