Jim McElwee Sworn in to Galloway Council
He was sworn in by Colin Bell and Sherry Sauerwine.
Newly-elected Councilman Jim McElwee was sworn in to Galloway Council on Tuesday night, Nov. 27. McElwee defeated John Mooney in the Nov. 6 special election, and the results were certified by Atlantic County on Tuesday.
McElwee will fill out the rest of former Councilman Dennis Kleiner's term. Kleiner resigned in June, and the seat expires next year.
In this video, McElwee is introduced and sworn in by Atlantic County Freeholder Colin Bell. The bible is being held by Sherry Sauerwine.

I was extremely pleased with Councilman McElwee's first meeting. There were quite a few times during the public comment portion of the meeting that despite not having strong feelings on the issue of prayer in general, I felt strongly about some of the comments that were made and would have gotten up to respond to them but Jim responded and said exactly what I was thinking. Nobody can hope or ask for more from their council.

Congratulations to the newest member of Council Jim McElwee and to the newly elected Freeholder Colin Bell -- both of these men will serve us well.
I like the levelheaded comments made by Mr. McElwee on the prayer issue.
