Man Arrested in Texas in Connection With May Atlantic City Murder
David Williams, of Atlantic City, was arrested in southern Texas Monday night.
An Atlantic City man was arrested in southern Texas Monday night, July 30, in connection with the murder of an Atlantic City woman in May, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor James P. McClain announced Monday night.
David J. Williams, 48, was arrested Monday night by members of the Sinton Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit in Sinton, Texas, McClain said.
Williams was charged with the murder of 23-year-old Siddiqah Bryant in May, McClain said. Bryant was discovered dead inside a parked van on the 1800 block of Arctic Avenue on May 17 after being reported missing earlier in the day, McClain said.
An autopsy later in the day revealed Bryant died of strangulation, and the manner of death was homicide, McClain said.
Williams is being lodged in Texas on $1 million bail, set by Judge John C. Porto, of Cape May County, pending extradition to Atlantic County, McClain said.
