Missing Toms River Man Found in Atlantic City, Hospitalized

Silver Alert called off the next day

A Toms River man reported missing Aug. 8 was found the next day in an Atlantic City casino hotel room, police said.

A Silver Alert for an unnamed Homestead Run man was called off Aug. 9, said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. The 59 year-old white man's name was not released.

On Aug. 8, a search response was activated for the Aviary Way resident, who was last seen Aug. 3 and expected to return home Aug. 5.

Along Route 37 and the Garden State Parkway, emergency alert signs were activated to share the message of the Silver Alert, and the man was believed to be heading north on the parkway, police said at the time.

However, the man was located south of Toms River in an Atlantic City casino's hotel room, Mastronardy said.

The man was found using cell phone records, said the police chief.

He was located with the help of local police, who determined the man needed hospitalization. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

I'd like to understand why it was necessary to describe him as a "white man."

I need to understand why it matters to you one way or the other?

When they issued the alert and described the "missing Man" they listed the characteristics that would aid those looking for him. Such as " a white man". This information was already public.

Did they also indicate how much he weighed, how tall he was, what he was wearing?

Well if you really want to be politically correct he was a "white man found at the blackjack table".
