Readers' Choice Winner: The Dubliner

The Dubliner Pub and Grill is the overwhelming favorite for St. Patrick's Day.

It might come as no surprise that Galloway Township's prominent Irish Pub was the overwhelming favorite St. Patrick's Day spot for Galloway Patch readers.

Of the 109 voters in this week's Readers' Choice poll, 92 voters, or 84 percent, selected the Dubliner Pub and Grill as the best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Seven readers selected McGettigan's 19th Hole Tavern, giving the tavern across the street from the Seaview second place with 6 percent of the vote. Third place didn't go to a bar, but rather the Irish store Out of Ireland, located in Historic Smithville.

Perhaps the Dubliner won for its dedication to the holiday. The pub isn't waiting for March 17 to begin the celebration, as they kick things off with an all-night Happy Hour at 6 p.m. An acoustic band will perform a mix of classic and Irish music beginning at 10 p.m.

On Saturday, the pub opens at 7 a.m.with a breakfast buffet. A live band will perform during the day, and a DJ will show up at 6 p.m. The radio station WMGM and representatives from Guinness will also be there.
