Mandatory evacuation orders for all five barrier islands in Atlantic County have now been rescinded.

Ventnor is now reopened to all residents and businesses as of 3:30 p.m., Atlantic County officials announced Friday afternoon, Nov. 2.

Residents and business owners will be allowed to return to the island to check on their properties with proper identification, according to county officials. Contractors and insurance adjusters will be restricted from re-entering the island until 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.

A curfew will remain in effect Friday night, 6 p.m.-6 a.m. at the request of Ventnor Police, according to county officials. Curfew has been lifted in Brigantine, Atlantic City, Margate and Longport, after conferring with the police chiefs of those municipalities, county officials said.

According to county officials, law enforcement will be posted at Jackson and Atlantic; Fredericksburg and Atlantic; and Wellington and West End Avenue.

All access roadways to the barrier island communities are open to motorists with the exception of the Longport Boulevard, according to county officials.

Earlier in the day, the mandatory evacuation orders were rescinded for Atlantic City. Gov. Chris Christie announced the casinos would also be reopening.

On Thursday, evacuation orders were rescinded for Brigantine, Margate and Longport.
