Week in Review: Chris Christie to Visit, Hail Storm at Graduation
A weekly recap of the past week's news.
This week we saw some ominous storm clouds and reported on many arrests.
Here are some highlights from the past week's news:
On Monday, we posted a police blotter, took a look at Celina's Mulberry Market and Grille, saw the Jessica Lunsford Act pass unanimously, discussed Queen Elizabeth's diamond jubilee and asked whether you think children should be able to use Facebook.
On Tuesday, we saw a former GTBA leader nominated for appointments to the state's Motion Picture and Television Development Commission, took a look at school report cards, announced that Taste of Galloway is coming later in June, looked at the Carpenter Cup Classic baseball rosters, reported that former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski has purchased Blue Heron Pine and looked at the school board elections, saw a Galloway man arrested for possession of weapons and CDS paraphernalia and people arrested after stealing a car and defecating on the floor.
On Wednesday, we saw an Egg Harbor City man arrested with large amounts of heroin, watched a pit bull help a good samaritan and announced that Governor Chris Christie will visit Galloway Township on Wednesday, June 13.
On Thursday, we posted a complete list of the Absegami High School Class of 2012, met its top five students, spoke with its valedictorian and saw a hail storm during graduation.
On Friday, we announced that Absegami seniors earned more than $6.3 million in scholarship money, looked at pictures from Absegami's graduation and posted a shore beach guide.
On Saturday, we looked at Tuesday's Galloway Township Council agenda, discussed the number of school board candidates and saw the Galloway Township Senior Center ribbon cutting ceremony.
