Woman, Child Taken to Hospital Following Accident Involving Traffic Light

They were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus with minor leg injuries.

Two people, including a child were taken to the hospital following a two-car accident involving a traffic light, Galloway Township Police said Thursday night, March 21.

Cristi Gopen, 42, of Galloway, was transported to the hospital with a leg injury after her 2006 Honda Accord collided with a 2009 Honda Civic being driven by Sonal Kansagara, 30 of Egg Harbor Township, on Thursday afternoon at 4:41 p.m., police said.

A child who was in the car with Gopen at the time of the accident was also taken to the hospital, police said.

Gopen was driving south on Moss Mill Road when she hit Kansagara, who was attempting to turn left off New York Road onto Moss Mill when she failed to yield to Gopen, police said. Kansagara's car was forced into a traffic light by the impact of the crash, police said.

Konsagara and her passenger, Feni Kansagara, 25, of Galloway, were both uninjured.

The traffic light was knocked down, and the New Jersey Department of Transportation responded to the scene for repairs, police said. The intersection was partially closed to southbound traffic while repairs were performed, and police were on the scene directing traffic.
