DESCRIPTION:New Exhibit &ndash\; &ldquo\;A Fine Collection: Treasures fro
 m the Vault&rdquo\;\n&nbsp\;\nThis Fall Macculloch  Hall Historical  Mus
 eum will exhibit some of its most popular pieces as well as many seldom-
 seen treasures which have been in storage. Vivid examples of the antique
  Oriental rug collection will be hung in the museum's first floor galler
 y\, complemented by textbook examples of fine porcelain\, silver\, glass
  and furniture collected by Museum founder\, W. Parsons Todd. This is a 
 special opportunity to see rarely-exhibited treasures from the collectio
 n in the gallery and tour the rest of the museum to see many other piece
 s in period room settings.&nbsp\; Included in the exhibit are over a doz
 en Oriental rugs from the Museum&rsquo\;s collection. The exhibit will a
 lso feature some of our country&rsquo\;s founding heroes documents inclu
 ding artifacts including George Washington\, Dolley Madison and others. 
 The exhibit will also feature fine furniture such as a walnut English ar
 mchair\, circa 1720\, which was the inspiration for the Museum&rsquo\;s 
 logo with the ornate looping back and shell design.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\n&ld
 quo\;A Fine Collection&rdquo\; has a perimeter layout which leaves the c
 enter of the room open for a series of speakers and musical programming 
 taking place in conjunction with the exhibit over the next several month
 s.&nbsp\; Programs in conjunction with the exhibit take place with music
  on the first Sunday at 4:30pm and speakers on the third Sunday of the m
 onth November through June (no programs in January). They begin on Sunda
 y November 4th with &ldquo\;Johnny Has Gone for a Solider: Early America
 n Music&rdquo\;.&nbsp\; &ldquo\;The Early Music Players&rdquo\; will per
 form parlor songs\, political songs &amp\; dance music on replicas of 18
 th century instruments\, such as the flute\, recorder\, viola da gamba &
 amp\; guitar.\n&nbsp\;\nOn Sunday November 18 4:30pm - Executive Directo
 r Carrie Fellows will present &ldquo\;Fashions in the Age of Austen&rdqu
 o\;\, an exploration of women&rsquo\;s fashion encompassing 1790 &ndash\
 ; 1817. Using images from the period\, photos of surviving garments\, si
 lhouettes in the Museum&rsquo\;s collection and handsewn reproduction cl
 othing\, Fellows will illustrate the Regency silhouette.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;
 \nTickets for Sunday programs will go on sale from 1pm on the day of the
  program\, no advance sales. &nbsp\;A separate ticket ($12) is required 
 for the musical programs\; discounted ($10) for members\, Seniors\, Stud
 ents and those who purchased a Museum tour ticket that afternoon.&nbsp\;
  House tours (regular admission applies) take place throughout the after
 noon\, the last tour leaves at 3pm. The upstairs galleries will remain o
 pen until 4:30pm however the &ldquo\;A Fine Collection&rdquo\; exhibit w
 ill close at 3pm in preparation for the program. Tickets to hear speaker
 s are Adults $8\; Seniors &amp\; Students $6\; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4
 . Members and children under 5 are free. Speaker tickets include admissi
 on to take part in a house tour if visitors arrive during the afternoon

 Early Music Players&rdquo\; returning on December 2\, to perform &ldquo\
 ;Carols and Capers: A Music Celebration from the Olde and New Worlds&rdq
 uo\;&nbsp\; which celebrates the season with a collection of beautifully
  performed holiday music from various countries spanning the Medieval\, 
 Renaissance and Baroque periods (1300's - 1700's).&nbsp\; Then on Decemb
 er 16th join F.M. Kirby Curator Ryan Hyman as he presents &ldquo\;Thomas
  Nast&rsquo\;s Historical Icons&rdquo\;\, to learn more about the ninete
 enth century political cartoonist&rsquo\;s Thomas Nast including his pop
 ularization of the modern day image of Santa Claus\n&nbsp\;\nMacculloch 
 Hall  Historical Museum preserves the history of the Macculloch-Miller f
 amilies\, the Morris area community\, and the legacy of its founder W. P
 arsons Todd through its historic site\, collections\, exhibits\, and edu
 cational and cultural programs. The Museum is open to tour the house and
  view exhibits on Wednesdays\, Thursdays &amp\; Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.
  Adults $8\; Seniors &amp\; Students $6\; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4. Mem
