A Dramatic Reading on Mary Todd Lincoln

The Galloway Township Women’s Club  will present a night of drama with a theatrical reading by Linda Turash from the play, “Pass My Imperfections Lightly By” in character and in costume on Monday, November 4th at 7pm at the Galloway branch of the Atlantic County Library.  The event is free and light refreshments will be available.

The play is a docudrama about Mary Todd Lincoln written by Vaughn McBride and has been described as a dramatic examination of a unique personality that history tends to simplify. The play includes scenes depicting Mary’s role in Lincoln’s rise to power, the horror of his assassination, and her eventual confinement to an insane asylum.

Linda Turash has over 30 years’ experience as an actress and acting teacher, performing in various venues including the Strand Theater, Ocean County College, Brookdale Community College as well as various community theaters, retirement villages, and women’s clubs.  She has also performed in the one woman show, “I am Woman, Help” in New Jersey and New York City. Her independent films credits include leading roles in “Making Change” and “Tap Dreams.”
