The Galloway Mustangs football program and cheerleaders raised more than $1,338 for charity over their Homecoming Week, according to Galloway Township Athletic Association President Chris Waszen. This year's charity was the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Waszen said.
Players and coaches wore green and gold to commemorate the cause, Waszen said.
Events included a powderpuff game (where the boys and girls switched roles for the day and the girls played flag football, while the boys cheered for them); Homecoming Dance and bake sale during the games, Waszen said.
The Mustangs defeated Ocean City, 31-0.
"They were honored to give this money to the Community Food Bank this year," Waszen said in an email. "This will definitely help with the Hurricane Sandy victims and their families!"
