New Day Family Success Center Opens in Galloway

State, county and municipal officials opened the doors to the New Day Family Success Center at 622-624 S. New York Road in Galloway Township on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

The New Day Family Success Center is one of five community-based neighborhood gathering places located in Atlantic County that provides individuals and families with support, information and services that promote self-sufficiency.

The Family Success Centers are a cooperative effort of Family Service Association, Atlantic County government and the state Division of Children and Families. Additional Family Success Centers are located in Atlantic City, Egg Harbor Township and Hammonton.

County Executive Dennis Levinson emphasized the importance of these centers in helping to meet the needs of county residents.

"A distinct advantage of these centers is their proximity to those they serve. They are truly community-based with a close handle on the challenges specific to that area," noted Levinson. "For some families it may be a lack of transportation, language or cultural barriers, unavailability of child care, and so on. Staff is there to assist and help guide them towards success."

Individuals and families that come to the New Day Family Success Center will have access to family health services information and referrals, life skills training, parent education, workshops and activities designed to provide strength and stability.

Current hours of operation are Monday, 8 AM - 6 PM; and Tuesday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. These hours may change in accordance with planned activities. No appointments are necessary, however, visitors are encouraged to call ahead for information.
