Storm Forces Speed Restrictions on Atlantic City Expressway

Speed limit is 35 miles an hour up into Washington Township.

There are speed restrictions in place on local roads as plowing and salting begins following Thursday night's storm, according to 511nj.org.

The speed limit on the Atlantic City Expressway between the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City and Route 42 in Washington Township has been reduced to 35 miles an hour in both directions due to weather.

The speed limit on the Atlantic City-Brigantine Connector between the Atlantic City Expressway and Route 30 in Absecon has been reduced to 35 miles an hour in both directions due to weather.

As of 10:30 a.m, local emergency management crews are salting and plowing the Expressway and the Connector.

Atlantic County offices remain open on Friday despite a State of Emergency put in place by Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday night, the Press of Atlantic City reports.

Tidal flooding has forced the Black Horse Pike in the West Atlantic City portion of Egg Harbor Township to close, according to the report. Shore Road in Absecon has been reduced to one lane, and additional roads in Atlantic City and Ventnor Heights have closed.
