Galloway Contestants Compete in Miss New Jersey Pageant Next Week

Two Galloway natives will compete in next week's Miss New Jersey Pageant in Ocean City.

Miss Coastal Shore Cierra Kaler-Jones is a Rutgers University student. She's a dancer and her platform is "Empowering Today's Youth Through Arts."

Miss South Shore Area Amanda Ross is a Montclair State University student. She is also a dancer and her platform is "Autism Awareness."

The pageant will be held in Ocean City for the 18th time on June 12-14. The annual parade on the boardwalk kicks off the festivities on Wednesday night, June 11, 7 p.m.

All 24 contestants will dress to replicate this year’s theme, “The Red Carpet on the Ocean City Boardwalk,” and will be “Showing Their Shoes” as is the custom in Miss America sponsored parades.

The preliminary round will be held June 12-13, and the finals are set for June 14 at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace.

All programs begin at 7:30 p.m. and the winner advances to the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.
