As the Olympic Games close.....

So the Olympic Games come to a close for another 4 years....

So we are done with the Summer Olympics for another 4 years. I'm so amazed that when I think back on it, last Summer Olympics my daughter was just starting High School. For these Olympic games, 2012, my daughter is just starting College, and for the next games in Rio, she will be graduating from College and starting who knows what! I just find that mind boggling sometimes.

I know there are mixed feelings on the NBC coverage of these Olympic games. That being said, I have to voice my own opinion on this. I think the coverage was absolutely amazing. I wish there were a place I could write in (still looking) to express my good feelings on this.

Many people now have DVR and can record portions of the games or even the whole set of games. For those of us that have Comcast, it has been a dream. I can still go into the On Demand menu and find almost any event including the opening and closing ceremonies or even just parts of that.

On that note, many of the exciting moments of the games are still on for this week on NBC Sports Channel. I think the coverage was awesome. We had to deal with time zones and see pretty much everything after it happened in England.

A comment was made yesterday that the timing will be much better for us out of Rio. We shall see. I think given the circumstances, we had a lot to see here. We also had a lot to celebrate: 104 medals for the U.S., just above China. Amazing! Also we had 24 year old Jordan Burroughs of Sicklerville bringing home Gold!

I think we really have a lot to celebrate. Isn't it better to celebrate the good than complain about the bad? That just keeps going back to the power of positive thinking that I have spoken about many times with you. Look at the energy in the stadium when Team USA's Fab Five took the Gold in Gymnastics.

Then look at the energy when they came back after a few days off and went for individual medals. We did OK there too; however, the energy was not nearly the same when we were on the brink of Team Gold and it showed.

All in all, it was so great to watch the Olympics. Whether it's your thing or not, it's OK. It is there for those of us that love it - to marvel in it.

For me, it is just compelling to see the finest athletes and sports enthusiasts in the world come together on common ground and be at peace. It's truly some of the world's finest moments.

Yes, there is always controversy. There is controversy in every little thing. That's what makes the world go round. On a whole, though, the Olympic Games are exciting, compelling and breathtaking.

England did an amazing job and I am so looking forward to seeing it all again in 4 years!
