This week, I have the pleasure of spending some time in the beautiful area of Bracey, Virginia. The ambiance here in town is only complemented by my wonderful friends, the Kozlowskis.
Their home sits on 12 beautiful acres of land off the 30 mile stretch of Lake Gaston. Wlhen you look up into the sky at night, you can REALLY see the stars. No light pollution, no noise pollution, just a different feel of life here.
Remember I always talk about the opportunity for a great connection. That doesn't always have to be in business. Great opportunities and connections surround us all the time.

It so happens, when I was working on a local radio station, my friends used to come in on occasion and bring the staff doughnuts. Well this one particular time, they had won tickets from the station to see an up and coming Country Western star, Clint Black.
Well I had a fascination with Clint because he uses his real name on stage. (Many artists of that nature don't.) Clint's Mom wanted to name him Cole, but didn't want him growing up with the name Cole Black, so she named him Clint.

My mom wanted to name me April, but didn't want me growing up with the name April Fuerst ( my maiden name), so she named me Ava. So this day, when my friends got the tickets, one of their family members could not attend the show.
I was asked to join them. I actually got to meet Clint that night and tell him the story about our names.
As far as my friends go, the rest was history. We have remained friends now for over 27 years. We often talk about our children and how they are growing up so fast.
Their children were little when we met. Now one just got married and one just got engaged. My daughter will be a senior this year, right here at Absegami High School. Our friends used to visit when she was an infant.
These are the things we reflect on in our lives. Not only great business and great business contacts, but great friends, great stories and a full rich life in that respect.
Take all the opportunities that come your way. Remember, opportunity does knock more than once, and if you don't take it the first time around, someone else answers the door.
