Hurricane And Emergency Preparedness Workshop In Galloway

In cooperation with the Mental Health Association in Atlantic County, the Atlantic County Office of Emergency Preparedness will present two information workshops for those recovering from Superstorm Sandy and those who are interested in learning how to become better prepared for the next emergency.

On Monday, July 1 at 6 PM, representatives from the two agencies will be joined by New Jersey Hope and Healing to discuss the impacts from Sandy on residents, including emotional reactions to disaster and devastation and related coping mechanisms. The workshop will be held at the Atlantic County Library System/Galloway, 306 E. Jimmie Leeds Road.

A three-hour workshop will be presented for human service providers on Wednesday, July 17 at the Anthony “Tony” Canale Training Center, 5033 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township. Participants can choose to attend at 9:30 AM or 1 PM. This workshop will include a discussion of “Lessons Learned” as well as resources available to them to assist their customers in emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
