Galloway, Absecon ShopRites Aid in Combat Against Autism

Local ShopRites will sell Light it up Blue t-shirts and the Autism Puzzle Piece beginning Saturday.

ShopRites in and are among 29 ShopRite supermarkets in Maryland, New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania that are teaming up with Autism Speaks to help combat the disease, ShopRite announced on Monday, March 19.

The ShopRites, managed by Village SuperMarket Inc., will sell "Light it up Blue" T-shirts beginning Saturday, March 25. The shirts will be $10 each and the Autism Puzzle Piece will be on sale for $1. All proceeds go directly to Autism Speaks for research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism.

T-shirts will be available at the Customer Service Desk, where donations can also be made.

ShopRite and Autism Speaks combined goal is to increase awareness of autism spectrum disorders and advocate for needs of individuals with autism, as well their families and caregivers, according to a release from ShopRite. Autism Speaks’ mission is to change the future of all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders, according to the same release.
