Press of Atlantic City Reduces Workforce by 15 Percent

The newspaper laid off 26 employees and will not fill 13 vacant positions.

The Press of Atlantic City has reduced its workforce by 15 percent, including the reduction of 26 employees, the newspaper announced Tuesday night, April 2.

The paper also will not fill 13 currently vacant positions.

The Press of Atlantic City's Publisher, James W. Hopson, told employees the reductions were being made in "preparation to sell the newspaper and related business to new owners," according to the Press story.

The Press of Atlantic City's parent company put the paper up for sale in January.
