AC Electric To Hold Meeting Regarding Moss Mill Road Substation

Meeting is scheduled for residents of Four Seasons.

A meeting regarding a proposed Atlantic City Electric substation in Port Republic on the border of Galloway will be held at the Four Seasons in Manchester Village at 1 p.m. on Sept. 12, for Four Seasons residents only.

Atlantic City Electric Spokeswoman Lendel Jones said that, as of now, the project is in the preliminary stages and the company does not know when it will begin.

"We are planning to build it because of the growth of the area," she said. "We need it to continue to be able to give our customers the type of service they're used to getting, because the current infrastructure there now has almost reached load capacity."

Public Affairs Manager for AC Electric Ken Mosca said that there are normally no safety concerns with these substations, as long as people do to trespass into the substation.

"Our substations are very safe," he said. "They're built safely."
