Animal Rescue Assistance Available for Those Impacted by Sandy

Those in charge of the effort in Atlantic County organized a similar effort post-Katrina.

There is animal rescue assistance to Atlantic County residents impacted by Super Storm Sandy, and it is organized by the same group that organized a similar effort following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, county officials announced on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

An Animal Response Hotline has been established in order to reunite residents with pets they were forced to leave behind during the storm, according to county officials. The hotline phone number is (609) 909-7829.

Residents calling leave their name, hometown, the number and type of pet(s), and a current contact number, and calls are returned in the order in which they are received, according to county officials.
