Galloway Collects Three Inches of Snow

Galloway Township has more snow than any other municipality in the state as of Monday afternoon. The Township had three inches of accumulation Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service out of Mount Holly projected between 3 and 5 inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday night. Atlantic Cape Community College closed at 10 a.m. due to inclement weather, according to the college's Public Relations/Public Manager Stacey Clapp.

All classes and activities on campus were canceled, and a decision on if the college will be open on Tuesday, March 26, will be communicated early in the morning via text message alert, social media and the college website, according to the college's website.

As of 9:44 a.m., there were no plans in place to close the Greater Egg Harbor Regional Schools, including Absegami.

Classes at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey were not canceled as of 11 a.m.. The Galloway Township School District doesn't send children home early from school.

The public hearing on the school district's proposed budget, which will be part of the school board meeting tonight at the middle school will go on as scheduled.

The current forecast from the National Weather Service out of Mount Holly is calling for 3-5 inches of snow for the area, and a mix of rain and snow through Tuesday night, March 26.

Wind gusts of between 18 and 23 miles an hour are expected for tonight, dropping to between 10 and 15 miles an hour after midnight.

A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight.
