Children's Specialized Hospital Expands to Atlantic County

Children with special needs can now find care in Egg Harbor Township.

Children's Specialized Hospital announced on Thursday that it will open a new pediatric outpatient center at the Risley Commons Shopping Center, located at 6106 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, according to a release from the hospital.

The hospital will provide physical, speech, specialized pediatric occupational therapy, as well as specialized pediatric physician services, the release said.

The hospital will begin treating patients in mid-September and will hold a free carnival, sponsored by Kohl's Cares, on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate its opening. The carnival will feature games, foods, prizes and other events.

According to the release, Children's Specialized Hospital served more than 19,000 children with special needs last year and is the nation's largest pediatric rehabilitation system.

“We know there are children who can benefit from our services and we are proud to offer our expertise in medical care, pediatric therapy and family centered care approach to the residents the Atlantic County area,” said Patricia Foley, associate vice president of outpatient services, Children’s Specialized Hospital.
