Deadline for Disaster Assistance Through FEMA Extended Through Jan. 30

Disaster Recovery Centers will be closed Christmas Day.

The deadline to apply to receive individual disaster assistance through FEMA has been extended from Dec. 31, 2012 to Jan. 30, 2013, Atlantic County officials said on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Additionally, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Centers will be closed on Christmas Day. They will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26, county officials said.

The centers will close at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24 and will remain closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25, according to county officials.

Atlantic County's Disaster Recovery Centers are at the Atlantic City Convention Center, at 1 Convention Boulevard in Atlantic City; and behind the Hamilton Township Mall at 4403 Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing.

The centers were open for the benefit of victims of Superstorm Sandy in the days following the storm.
