FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers to be Closed on New Year's Day

They will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 and reopen Jan. 2.

New Jersey Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will continue to provide assistance during the holiday season. The DRCs are currently open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, and will be closed on New Year’s Day.

Residents who were impacted by Superstorm Sandy can visit any of the centers to meet with Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster specialists, receive assistance about low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration and find information about other disaster assistance programs.

Two DRCs are located in Atlantic County: in Atlantic City at the Convention Center, 1 Convention Boulevard; and in Mays Landing behind the Hamilton Mall, 4403 Black Horse Pike.

Residents who have not yet registered with FEMA have until January 30, 2013 to do so by calling 1-800-621-3362 or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585, online at www.disasterassistance.gov, and via a smartphone at m.fema.gov.
