FEMA Officials Looking to Establish Atlantic County Center

They are working with county officials to identify a proper location.

Officals from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are working with Atlantic County officials to establish a disaster recovery center in the county, officials said Tuesday afternoon. The center would serve individuals and businesses impacted by last week's storm, according to officials.

They provide the following services:

  • Guidance regarding disaster recovery;
  • Clarification of any written correspondence received;
  • Housing Assistance and Rental Resource information;
  • Answers to questions, resolution to problems and referrals to agencies that may provide further assistance;
  • Status of applications being processed by FEMA; and
  • SBA program information if there is a SBA Representative at the Disaster Recovery Center site.

There are currently centers set up in Cape May County, at 30 Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House; and in Ocean County, at the Drum Point Elementary School, 41 Drum Point Road, Brick Township. At this point, residents from Atlantic County may go to either of these sites, as they are not restricted to residents of those counties, officials said.
