Field of Dreams Offers Reward for Information Concerning Field Vandalism

The field was vandalized on Nov. 17.

The South Jersey Field of Dreams is offering a reward to anyone offering information pertaining to acts of vandalism that occurred at the field over the weekend, Field of Dreams announced on Wednesday, Nov. 21.

According to Field of Dreams officials, the vandalism occurred on Saturday, Nov. 17, when a truck or SUV was driven over the new field surface and outfield, causing damage to the Jonathon Pitney Recreation Park.

The vandalism has been reported to the Absecon Police Department, Field of Dreams officials said.

in Absecon, is a specially constructed baseball facility designed to meet the needs of physically or cognitively impaired children. Participation in the league is free.

“It is disconcerting that funding that should be going to benefit our special players, now will have to be diverted to the protection of our field from vandals,” Field of Dreams Board of Directors President Barry Hackett said.

The Board of Directors is soliciting bids for the installation of a new video surveillance system, Field of Dreams officials said.

If you have any information regarding the vandalism contact Hackett at 609-641-1706 or e mail info@sjfieldofdreams.

This is a disgrace! I hope these losers are caught and prosecuted. Maybe their sentence should be to wear placards identifying their misdeed while marching in the parade.
