Five Things You Need To Know

1.     Tuesday night, Aug. 2 is National Night Out. Galloway Township’s 8th annual celebration will be at the municipal complex on Jimmie Leeds Road from 6-9 p.m., and will include fire truck demos, pony rides, giveaways, crafts and more. 2.     Galloway Township’s carnival is Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 4-6 from 6-10 p.m. every night. It will be at the municipal complex on Jimmie Leeds Road, and will feature rides, games, food, cotton candy, candy apples and more. All rides are $20. Wristbands supporting the Galloway Township K-9 unit will be available for purchase. Thursday night, Aug. 4 is Family Night. Proceeds benefit the Beacon Church Food Pantry.

4.  The first Mike Wamsher Memorial Softball Tournament takes place today, July 30, at Gabriel Field on Duerer Street and Zurich Avenue. The event is being held in honor of Atlantic City Police Officer Michael Wamsher, who was killed in an off-duty accident in January. Funds raised will be donated to the Olivia Herbert and Adria Lynne McMeekin Educational Trust Fund. Team entry fee is $100, and registration begins at 9 a.m.
