Five Things You Need To Know

1.     Kelli Danielli, formerly of the Public Works Department, was appointed Deputy Clerk  at the council meeting on Oct. 9. Township records indicate there was no increase in salary for this position, meaning Danielli will continue to make $31,448. Because she had no prior municipal clerk experience, Danielli had to participate in a course titled, “Introduction to the Duties of Municipal Clerk,” a course with  $745 registration fee.

2.     For the first time in a month and a half, there will be no festivals in Smithville this weekend. The next events will be the pet parade on Oct. 27 and the Zombie Walk on Oct. 28.

3.     Galloway Senior Services will host a Halloween Party at the Senior Center on the White Horse Pike and Carton Avenue from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25. Doors open at 10:30, and the film “Hokus Pokus,” will be shown at 11. The event is for adults 50 years and older, and no children are allowed. Cake, coffee, chips and popcorn will be available and there will be music and dancing. The event is free.
