Forecast Calls for 2-4 Inches of Snow, Possible Coastal Flooding

The flood advisory is in effect between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday night.

Spring arrived last week and the area is bracing for yet another possible snow storm.

This time, the National Weather Service out of Mount Holly is calling for 2-4 inches of snow on Monday, March 25, and a Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday night.

Snow was set to begin overnight on Sunday, but the real storm was forecast to begin with a mix of rain and snow before 9 a.m., followed by snow between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and a return to the mix of rain and snow after 2 p.m.

The storm was expected to revert back to snow after 10 p.m., with less than half an inch of additional accumulation expected thereafter. Rain and snow is expected to continue through Tuesday, with skies clearing up Tuesday night.

If the forecast proves true, it would be the third time the area has seen snow since the arrival of spring on March 21. It may be the first significant snowfall of the year.
