Galloway Leaf Collection Schedule Set

Brightly colored autumn trees are giving way to bare branches. is at the ready with a leaf collection operation that lasts through Dec. 30. 

Public Works split the township into four sections and each section gets four leaf collections. 

The sections and collection dates are:

Zone 1: Parkway W. to Bremen Ave.
Route 30 N. to Galloway boundary

Oct. 24-28, Nov. 14-18, Nov. 21-23*, Dec. 19-23

Zone 2: Parkway E. to Reeds Bay
Jimmie Leeds Rd. N. to Galloway boundary

Oct. 31-Nov. 4, Nov. 28-Dec. 2, Dec. 27-30

Zone 3: Parkway E. to Reeds Bay
Jimmie Leeds Rd S. to Galloway boundary

Nov. 7-10, Dec. 5-9, Dec. 12-16, Dec. 27-30

Zone 4: Parkway W. to Bremen Ave.
Route 30 S. to Galloway boundary

Oct. 24-28, Nov. 14-18, Nov. 21-23*, Dec. 19-23

* There will be no collection on Nov. 11, 24 and 25 and Dec. 26.

Galloway Public Works has several tips for residents to ensure a smooth leaf collection:

• Rake leaves to the edge of your property, not in the roadway.
• Rake leaves curbside the Sunday before your collection week. Leaves may also be bagged and placed curbside.
• Keep leaf piles away from mailboxes, utility poles and parked cars. Piles must be accessible to be collected.
• Do not rake piles near or over storm drains.
• Leaf piles containing grass clippings, branches and other waste will not be collected.

Residents also may bring bagged leaves and grass clippings to the Galloway Road Compost Facility, Wednesday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
