Galloway Road Compost Extending Hours For Accepting Branches

Residents may drop off their branches from Monday through Saturday through Sept. 16, and Senior Citizen pick-up will resume.

The Galloway Township Road Compost site, located at 570 Galloway Road, will is extending the days and hours it will accept branches from Galloway residents in the wake of Hurricane Irene.

The site normally only accepts branches on the first Friday and Saturday of the month, but as residents clean up in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, the township has announced that the site will be accepting branches Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. through Sept. 16, excluding Monday, Sept. 5, which is Labor Day.

The township has announced it will also resume Senior Citizen pick-up until Sept. 16. Seniors must call the Galloway Township Department of Public Works at 609-652-3700, ext. 255 to request pick-up.

The service is for Galloway residents only, and proof of residency will be required. The site can not accept branches more than four inches in diameter.
