Galloway Township's Fourth of July Parade is its Biggest Ever
This year's parade features 170 entries, up 20 from last year and up from 47 its first year in 1999.
Galloway Township Fourth of July Parade Chairman Rich Maxwell calls this year's parade the largest Galloway's ever had, and possibly the largest in the state. With 170 entries, that claim at least seems hard to dispute.
The parade begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning, July 4, at Smitty's Super Foodtown. It goes down Moss Mill Road and concludes at the Village Greene in Historic Smithville.
The parade began in 1999 with 47 entries, and was up to 150 entries last year.

"We have more music floats this year," Maxwell said, specifying that the floats play patriotic music to show their support for veterans. "We have new floats we have never seen before."
Maxwell said Holy Spirit High School will bring an authentic helicopter and there will be a mini-circus, for the first time.

"I'm not sure (what the helicopter) was used for, but it flew at one time," Maxwell said. "They fixed it up and they're bringing it to honor the Vietnam vets."
There will be no same-day registration this year, and registration has closed. There is no parking in the staging area. Parking is in the Smithville lots and no political signs are allowed.
The lineup for this year's parade is as follows:
