Mussel Bar and Grille Owner Participating in Toy Collection for Kids Impacted by Sandy

Toys will be delivered to the Galloway Community Center on Monday, Dec. 17.

An Atlantic City chef is among three chefs who will be collecting toys to donate to children impacted by Superstorm Sandy, the Mussel Bar and Grille at the Revel announced on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Mussel Bar and Grille owner Robert Wiedmaier will join David Guas and RJ Cooper in collecting toys. Wiedmaier will deliver the toys to the Galloway Township Community Center on Monday, Dec. 17. Toys will be distributed from there, according to the Revel.

Collections began Wednesday and run through Friday, according to the Revel. Each chef will offer a free chocolate treat to anyone who donates a toy, the Revel said.

Wiedmaier owns Mussel Bar and Grille locations in Atlantic City and Bethesda, Maryland. Both locations will collect toys, and offer nutella ice cream with chocolate waffle "bonbons" in Atlantic City, and triple chocolate gateau with Young's chocolate stout creme anglaise and vanilla ice cream in Bethesda, the Revel said. Chef Dean Dupuis will handle the collection and the distribution of chocolate in Atlantic City, according to the Revel.

Collection in Atlantic City will take place from 12:30 p.m.-11 p.m., Wednesday-Friday, and in Bethesda from 11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m., according to the Revel. The Mussel Bar is located at 500 Boardwalk Road in Atlantic City. The phone number is 609-225-9851.

Guas owns the Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar and Eatery in Virginia, and Cooper owns Rogue 24 in Washington, D.C. Their collections take place simultaneously.
