Seashore Gardens to Pay Tribute to Dennis Gomes at Inaugural Black Tie Gala

Gomes, formerly of Galloway Township and CEO of Resorts, died in February.

Lloyd D. Levenson will give a special tribute to the late Dennis Gomes at the Seashore Gardens Foundation’s inaugural Black and White Ball Dec. 15 at the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, the Simon and Sylvia Zisman Seashore Gardens Living Center announced Friday, Oct. 12.

Gomes’ wife, Barbara, and his son, Aaron, will cohost the ball with Janice and Martin Klein, according to Seashore Gardens.

Gomes, formerly of Galloway Township, was the CEO of Resorts when he died in February.

Tickets are $250 each and sponsor tables can be purchased for $3,500 and $5,000, according to Seashore Gardens. Black and white attire is required for the black-tie event, and Resorts is offering complimentary valet parking and a special room rate, Seashore Gardens said.

The purpose of the ball is to raise awareness and funds for Seashore Gardens, and the black tie requirement represents the “elegance and old world charm of Seashore Gardens,” according to the center.

Dinner and dancing will begin at 7 p.m. with the music of the Eddie Bruce Orchestra and décor by Brian Kappra of Evantine Design. They are both on the event steering committee, and Bruce performed at a Seashore Gardens ball called “The Special Event” in the early years of Seashore Gardens, the center said.

The Black and White Ball Steering Committee is chaired by Suzanne Singer, with honorary co-chairs Shelley and Jerry Bernstein, and Shirley and Howard Bernstein.
