State Settles Lawsuit With Galloway Woman Who Survived 2008 Plane Crash

A Galloway Township woman who survived a 2008 plane crash in Ocean County has been awarded $125,000 by the state following her lawsuit alleging State Police failed to search for her following the crash, according to The Star Ledger.

Jacalyn Toth Brown, 33, claimed the failure to search for her by State Police forced her to wait several hours for medical care, according to the Star Ledger's website. The crash occurred at 12:45 p.m. on May 17, 2008, and the state police didn't discover the crash or the victims until 4:56 p.m., according to The Star Ledger.

Two people died in the crash. Once discovered, Brown and one other person were airlifted to Atlantic City for medical treatment. Brown's injuries were not specified in the story. The lawsuit was filed in 2010, according to The Star Ledger.
