UPDATED: Storm Causing Power Outages Throughout the Township

The heaviest concentration of outages is in the Pomona section.

The Nor'easter making its way through the area is causing power outages throughout Galloway Township on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

The highest concentration of outages is in the Pomona section of the township, where over 1,000 residents are without power, according to the Atlantic City Electric outage map. The total number of residents in Pomona without power is 1,645.

Some businesses have begun to close for the night due to the outages.

According to the map, 11 customers throughout the rest of the township are experiencing outages. The map shows about 3,065 outages in nearby Absecon, and 29 in Port Republic.

The storm moved into the area this afternoon, bringing with it strong winds, rain and snow.

It's the second major outage in two weeks, as much of Galloway and the county lost power following Superstorm Sandy. The electric company announced all power was restored related to that storm on Tuesday.
