Who's Galloway Township's Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Obama their person of the year for the second time. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama their Person of the Year, again!

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including the president, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. But, the president took the title again four years after he first won the award as president-elect in 2008.

But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is Galloway Township's Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?

Tell us your pick in the comment section below!

Harry Scheeler even though he doesn't live here, that's my vote! None have done a better job at exposing just what is wrong with this town.

I vote for Harry....He's looked into places Galloway doesn't want him looking. There should be a monument to Harry! And a dunking tank for those questionable Council People....lol

Although Dave,Anthony, and Harry are all good choices, there is one man that I think deserves this Honor and Much more. Cpl Joe Mille US Army. Joe is a Galloway Son who was deployed to Afganistan and on Jan.10th lost his leg in an explosion in Kandahar. While that sacrifice should have been enough, he works everyday in rehab to try and return to duty and continue to serve his Country. He Honors his Family, his Hometown and his Country with the Highest degree of service and sacrifice. It is time we Honor him! Thank You Joe and all your fellow servicemen standing in harms way to protect our freedom at home!!

I think if you're going to name an individual based on his service in the Afghanistan or Iraq theaters you should name all veterans of those theaters from our community. Some may not have the physical scars of Corporal Mille but some may. The emotional scars may require even longer rehabilitation. We have sons and daughters of Galloway that have served three and four tours as well as some in the special forces that have served with extreme valor. My vote goes to Dave Evans.

Jim you are right on target,Joe is trulley a great patriot and a asset to our community, there is one other person in our community that should be honored that being Scoutmaster Tom McGee,through his help and devotion to our youth has made our community shine a little brighter. These type of people are what America is built on.

The person of the year is defined as the person who “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”.

Whom ever defined that definition needs help, for the past 3 weeks our news has been inadated with the mass killing of 20 innocent children by a madman,I would say the media has portrayed him as influencing the news.I think we are talking about a person who has done most for the good of Galloway and has effected the lives of this community

We have come to know the soldier as a protector of freedom and the American way of life. However, my vote for Person of Year is our Galloway Police Department. We have overlooked a soldier that has stood vigilante, day and night, to keep us safe from, the clear and present danger here at home. This is from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Washington , D.C. A total of 1,559 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years (time equal to the War in Afghanistan), an average of one death every 56 hours or 156 per year. There were 163 law enforcement officers killed in 2011. On average, 58,261 (or 582,610 the average in a decade) assaults against law enforcement each year, resulting in 15,658 injuries (156,580 in 10 years) .
