Golfers can still register for the 2012 Atlantic Cape Community College Scramble ‘Fore’ Scholarships golf tournament, Friday, Oct. 12, at Cape May National Golf Club in Erma.
The tournament will begin with a shotgun-start at 11 a.m. and will follow a scramble format. This year’s event will feature a hole-in-one shootout for a chance to win a 2012 Chevrolet Cruz, sponsored by Burke Motor Group.
This year, golfers can participate in skills challenges, including a rowboat chipping contest, longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests. A Kindle Fire will be awarded to one of the skilled golfers.
The historic Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May will host and cater the awards dinner, 5:30 p.m., in the acclaimed Magnolia Room, which received a glowing review by Philadelphia Inquirer Food Critic Craig LaBan in July. Guests will enjoy a Crab Cake and Fried Chicken dinner prepared by the Chalfonte’s well-known chefs, and students from the Academy of Culinary Arts will provide decadent desserts. Harpist Maryanne Meyer of Philadelphia will provide the evening’s entertainment.
Partnering with the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation, CMNGC will host the tournament to raise money for scholarships and Foundation operations.
The tournament’s sponsors include Caesars Entertainment, CMNGC, the Chalfonte Hotel and WMGM NBC-40.
