Week in Review: Fair Trade Voted Down, Paul Longo Honored

A weekly recap of the past week's news.

This week we saw a councilwoman make a national television appearance, reported on a vote regarding fair trade and saw arrests made on weapons and drugs charges.

Here are some highlights from the past week's news:

On Monday, we posted a police blotter, saw a cross country run for awareness end with a plunge into the Atlantic Ocean, reported that Atlantic County Surrogate Jim Curcio pleaded guilty to a DWI charge, saw the Galloway Township Council reject a fair trade resolution and reported on Monday night's Board of Education meeting.

On Thursday, we posted instructions on how to register to vote in Galloway, saw Sept. 24 be named Paul Longo Day, listed five things you need to know about Monday's Township Council meeting, heard Councilman John Mooney criticize a study of Atlantic City International Airport, saw the Assembly Judiciary Committee pass the Jessica Lunsford Act and reported that three Galloway residents were arrested on drug and weapons charges.

On Friday, we reported that a Galloway man was arrested on drug charges after a SWAT team search, saw the polling center at Richard Stockton College report , reported that Bill Trask, a well-known and well-loved member of the community, has died, and posted an update about Lisa Tilton's lawsuit against Galloway Township.

On Saturday, we reported that the NJSIAA has moved the date of this year's state wrestling tournament and saw legislators call for a single meeting with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority regarding proposed interchanges in Galloway Township.
