$2,500 Reward Offered in Smithville CVS Robberies

The robberies took place on Dec. 29 and Jan. 8.

The Galloway Township Police Department and Crime Stoppers are offering a $2,500 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a woman suspected of robbing the CVS in Smithville on Dec. 29, 2012 and Jan. 8, 2013, police announced Thursday afternoon.

The robberies took place at the Smithville on 1 New York Road in Smithville, and Galloway Police suspect the same woman is responsible for both robberies. On the suspect walked through the front door of the pharmacy and held what was believed to be a gun into the back of the pharmacist and demanded controlled substances, according to police. The suspect left with an undetermined amount of medicine.

On the suspect entered the CVS with a bag and what appeared to be a gun in the bag, according to police. On that occassion, the suspect left with $300 worth of percocets, according to police.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-tall white female in her 20's or 30's with blonde, shoulder length hair. She wore a mask, black leather jacket, black pants and gloves, police said.

The reward is being donated by Purdue Pharma LP, which operates RxPATROL, a collaborative effort between industry, pharmacists and law enforcement to collect, collate, analyze and disseminate information on pharmacy theft.

“It’s important for people to know that all information that we get is kept completely confidential," Crime Stoppers President Gene Ferrara said. "Callers never have to give their names or appear in court.  The Crime Stoppers tip line does not use any tape recording or caller ID devices."
