Atlantic City Man Dead After Shooting

Prosecutor's Office asking for public's help

An Atlantic City man died after suffering several gunshot wounds this morning on North Rhode Island Avenue, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel said.

Atlantic City police discovered Joshua Hopewell, 26, shot multiple times in the head and torso, and was later transported to AtlanticCare regional Medical Center-City Campus where he died after being taken off life-support.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are investigating the shooting.

"I'm asking the people of Atlantic City to help us solve this quickly and let these killers know that you won't put up with this violence anymore," Housel said in a press release.
