Atlantic City Man Indicted in Vehicular Death of Cousin on White Horse Pike in 2011

He has been accused of driving while intoxicated at a high rate of speed.

An Atlantic City man has been indicted on charges of vehicular homicide of his cousin while speeding and driving while intoxicated on the White Horse Pike in 2011, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Sundeep Sekhon, 35, was indicted on Wednesday on charges relating to the death of his cousin, Amarinder Sandhu, of Roanoke, Virginia, McClain said. Sandhu was killed by the impact of Sekhon's Audi R8 colliding with a utility pole on Route 30 eastbound in Absecon at 10 p.m. on June 4, 2011, McClain said. Sekhon sustained no serious injuries, according to McClain.

Sekhon has been charged with vehicular homicide. He also received traffic citations from Absecon Police, including charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and improper display of plates.

He was arrested on Oct. 28, 2011, but remains free on $150,000 cash bail and the surrender of his passport, according to McClain.
